Our home is a newer 3 bedroom ranch. We have a finished basement that’s great for entertaining a crowd. Whenever we have our friends over to watch the game, their kids have fun riding around on this wheeled horse that we inherited from Kathleen’s sister (her kids are too big for that now). Some of the older kids enjoy the air hockey table and the mini-basketball hoop.
There’s a big park behind our house with miles and miles of hiking and biking trails. We walk Toby 2 or 3 miles a day. It’s a fairly rustic park, so we see a lot of wildlife. We’ve seen deer, rabbits, raccoons, squirrels, and lots of birds. There’s a river nearby where you can hear the frogs singing in the spring. There’s also a very nice playscape in another area of the park that is within walking distance.
Our neighborhood has several children in it. We’ve seen little ones riding their trikes up and down the sidewalk and the older ones playing basketball in their driveways. Sometimes there will be a pickup softball game in a clearing in the park. There are several neighborhood events each year, so we can all get to know each other better.
